Melinda Reidinger is an American anthropologist, writer, and translator who lives in a rural part of Central Bohemia, Czech Republic. She has a B.A. in Art History and Literary Studies from Williams College in Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Virginia. She writes nonfiction and fiction, and this year her book *[The White Deer](https://abeautifulresistance.org/the-white-deer)*, an interdisciplinary work that combines her interests in myths and legends, animals, ecology, and ecospirituality, was published by Ritona Press. She is currently reading for a similar project, *A Wolf to Man*, which focuses on the ways wolves have served as inspiration and models for human relations.
